About

Maybe you’re asking who I am. Maybe you’re not. But it only seems right to share a bit about myself. Plus, you have to admit, it would be weird if I didn’t, right?
For the majority of my life, I lived in a small town about thirty minutes outside of Buffalo, NY. I hated the winters, and sometimes the people, so I decided to move back to my home state of Arizona. I’ve accepted that I’m not a people person, there’s a reason that most writers are introverts—we tend to like the worlds we create instead of the reality of our daily lives—so I avoid crowds as often as possible.
When I write, music has to be playing in the background. I’ve made up playlists to help get me through specific scenes of a book, which I listen to on repeat until I’ve completed that section. Some of my go-to artists include Hinder, Evanescence, The Civil Wars, Matchbox 20 and Flyleaf, to name a few.
When I’m not writing, I love to read. I stumbled into the New Adult genre a few years ago, which has become my niche ever since. Although I do occasionally enjoy psychological thrillers—Chevy Stevens is my go-to when I need a fix. One of my favorite authors is Colleen Hoover, but no self-respecting New Adult junkie can say that Beautiful Disaster doesn’t at least make you swoon for your own personal Travis Maddox.
*Here’s my selfish, introverted, would rather live in a fantasy world with my fantasy boyfriends, side note. I am always eager to discover new books and authors so it would be perfectly acceptable to pop on over to my contact page and shoot me an email with any recommendations of awesome books I absolutely MUST read! I will add that I find the world to be depressing enough, though, so please don’t send me suggestions of books that are going to make me question humanity more than I already do.
Okay, back to business.
Like every sane person, I love watching movies. Unlike my taste in books, my movie choices jump right off the cliff of realism directly into the valley of vampires, werewolves, and the occasional ghost. I usually lean toward the horror or fantastical category like The Shining – not the Stanley Kubrick version. Sorry, Jack Nicholson—but, to maintain my woman card, I throw in the occasional chick flick, think Friends with Benefits and Pretty Woman.
I love raspberry margaritas. I’m trying to be healthier, though, so I’m drinking lots of water now. Being healthy is so much fun! I enjoy almost every type of fruit, except mango, especially when dipped in whipped cream (don’t judge!). I love coffee and wait all year for Starbuck’s pumpkin spice latte. Oh, my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving not because of the food but I always host and, despite the family drama, I look forward to it every year.
Okay, I think that’s enough about me. I feel like I just went on a blind date where I did my best to sum myself up in a few hundred words. Though, if you’ve made it this far, I suppose I wasn’t such a bad date!
**Friendly reminder—don’t forget to email me, or post to my Goodreads page, my next Travis, Micha, or Kayden! And, if you’d like to partake in the experience of sharing things about yourself that you’re not sure anyone cares about, feel free to add that into your email as well. I would love to get to know my fellow book fanatics.
